Every Good Gift – Noticing God’s Blessings in Everyday Life

Every Good Gift – Noticing God’s Blessings in Everyday Life

“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above.”

James 1:17

Reflection

Life is full of blessings – some huge, like welcoming a new baby, and some small, like laughing with your family at dinner or enjoying a quiet moment when life feels loud. James reminds us that every single one of those good things comes straight from our Heavenly Father.

This verse speaks to each heart in a different way. For parents finally holding their rainbow baby, it’s a reminder that God was still good and still working, even in the waiting. For anyone who just loves their people deeply, it’s a nudge to see every moment and every breath as a gift from Him.

I’ve seen how this verse connects to the art I create – whether it’s a hand-painted heart for a new life or a memorial piece for a baby held forever in the heart. It’s a truth that carries us in both joy and grief – every good thing comes from God.

Prayer

Lord, thank You for the gifts You’ve given me – the ones I prayed for and the ones I didn’t even know I needed. Help me notice You in the little things, and remind me that every blessing – big or small – comes from You. When life feels heavy, remind me that Your goodness hasn’t gone anywhere. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Meaningful Keepsakes for New Life and Rainbow Babies

If this verse speaks to you, I’ve created watercolor scripture art that makes a meaningful gift for new parents or those celebrating God’s blessings. It’s available in your choice of color, size, and product type. You can find this design here.

You can also browse my full collection of scripture art here.

My hope is that this piece reminds you, as James wrote, that every good gift truly is from above.

With love and grace,
Kel
